Jamshaid Ashraf
Chairman, Pearl Group |
Mr. Jamshaid Ashraf is the founder and chairman of the Pearl Group. He started his career in Air India, with a background in Aeronautical Engineering. Being an entrepreneur by nature, it wasn't long before he ventured out on his own and started a construction company. After gaining experience in the construction industry, he moved on to the production of TV serials, which included Mrityunjay , the award winning serial directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. In 1992, he once again ventured into a new industry - Empty Container storage and Repair at Palaspe. This was the turning point from which he never looked back and went on an expansion spree, in new industries and regions, but always focusing on the service industry. Capitalising on this prior experience, he entered the fields of construction, container transport, NVOCC, CFS Management with Handling and Transport contracts, Restaurants, Themed Lounge Bars and Hotels.

Tahera Ashraf
Director, Pearl Group |
Mrs. Tahera Ashraf attained her Bachelor's in Science from Chinai College, Mumbai. She has served on the board of directors for Pearl Freight Services Pvt. Ltd. for over 7 years, and Pearl Transmarine Services Pvt. Ltd for 5 years. Her perpetual desire for learning led her to taking up courses and getting diplomas in holistic healing, Reiki, Naturopathy and Aromatherapy. In addition to her commitment at Pearl, she is also a practicing Aromatherapist, managing her own premium spa - Panacea , located at Hiranandani in Mumbai, and actively evaluating locations for regional expansion.

Shariq Ashraf

Mr. Shariq Ashraf graduated from Singapore Management University with High Honours (magna cum laude) in Bachelor's of Business Management, with a double major in Finance and Marketing. He has worked at General Electric (GE), in Quality Management. During his stint at GE, he attained a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma , which ensures a very high quality of service, provided consistently using minimum resources. Shariq has also worked in the logistics industry, focusing on Supply Chain Management. He is currently on a sabbatical, pursuing an MBA at Oxford University, UK.

Shayan Ashraf

Mr. Shayan Ashraf was exposed to the logistics industry from a very young age, and learnt through hands - on experience. He has been involved in warehouse management, contract negotiation and transportation. He is also responsible for some of the marketing campaigns behind Pearl Hospitality, specifically in the growth of Lounge Bars. He chose business as his field of study, and is currently on a sabbatical, pursuing further education in business and supply chain management in Australia at Macquarie University, Sydney.

Jainendra Jha

Mr. Jainendra Jha joined Pearl Group in April 2001 as the Executive Director. He has over 24 years of work experience in the field of Shipping, Warehousing and Container Freight Station Management. He has worked with international shipping lines and agencies such as CMA - CGM Global (India) Pvt. Ltd. (Agents for CMA - CGM, FRANCE), Killick Nixon (Agents for Andrew Weir - London) and Sentrans - (Agents for NSCSA - Saudi Arabia), in positions ranging from shipping manager to terminal manager. His overseas experience includes having worked for KEMEFS International in Hong Kong and Dubai as a shipping manager, overseeing the export of vehicles from the Middle East to China and Hong Kong. His educational qualifications include Bachelor of Arts, with a specialization in economics, as well as professional courses such as Management of Warehouses, Management of Custom Bonded Warehouses, Container and Container Freight Station Management and Container Terminal Planning.

Uday Prabhakar

Mr. Prabhakar has over 23 years of management experience, 12 of which have been with Pearl Group. Prior to his joining the Pearl Group, he has held management positions within reputed private organisations, such as Trendsetter and The Leela Group. His broad experience ranges from quality control management to supply chain management and production co-ordination. In Pearl Group, his responsibilities include the entire supervision of the various Container Freight Stations handled by Pearl, as well as labour control, material outsourcing and pricing decisions.

S. H. Rahman

A veteran in the field of sales and marketing, over twenty years of hands on experience in various industries, ranging from high value office automation, to the Hospitality industry. Mr. Rahman is an honors Graduate from St. Xavier's College Kolkata and PGDBM from IISWBM Kolkata. He has attended numerous Professional Development programs in Cornell University USA, IIMs and XLRI in India. He has a wide exposure of both the National and the International market, in the Hospitality sector. His last assignment was as a group General Manager Sales & Marketing for The Park Hotels. Mr. Rahman is spearheading the diversification of Pearl group into the Hospitality Sector, and is responsible for all expansion plans.

Rajesh K. Dhage

Mr. Rajesh Dhage has been with Pearl Group since its inception in 1992. In over 15 years at Pearl Group, he has overseen multiple operations in a broad range of work – ranging from container repair, to transport and container freight station management. He is also the chairman of the PWD (Public Works Department) for Nalasupara, which is in charge of building and maintaining Government infrastructure. As the Human Resource Director, he has played a vital role in strengthening the most important asset of Pearl Group - its employees.

Adam Sheikh
Senior Manager, Pearl Group |
Mr. Adam Sheikh has over 22 years of experience in shipping related businesses, including 7 years of overseas experience in Saudi Arabia. He has been with Pearl Group since 1992, working in different divisions, ranging from the first empty container storage and repair yard at Palaspe, to the CFS management at Bhandup. His previous responsibility included overseeing the Handling and Transport operations in Mundra, Gujarat, at Surashtra Container Private Limited CFS. Currently, he is in charge of the overall maintenance of Pearl Group equipment.

Alamgir Dayir

Mr. Alamgir Dayir has been with Pearl Group for over 12 years. He has extensive experience in labour handling and management, spanning over 22 years in construction and shipping related business. He has also served as the Corporator of Nalasupara Nagar Parishad for 5 years, as well as the Chairman of the Construction Committee. Leveraging on his extensive experience, he handles labour recruitment and other labour related issues within Pearl Group, and the administrative operations for Pearl Freight Services Private Limited.

Niranjan Kumar Sinha

Mr. N. K. Sinha has extensive experience dealing with security and safety issues. He has served as Honorary Senior Platoon Commander for HG & Civil Defense in the Government of Bihar, specialising in fieldcraft, fire and safety. He is also a Gold medallist shooter for the .22 caliber rifle in the BSRA. Mr. Sinha oversees the Handling and Transport (H&T) operations for the container freight stations handled by Pearl Group, and advises on safety measure implementations to ensure high quality service in the various operations.

Uday Prakash

Mr. Uday Prakash has over 37 years of experience with Container Freight Stations (CFS), having worked in Container Warehousing Corporation (CWC) for 31 years. With his B.Sc. in Agriculture, and post graduation in animal husbandry, Mr. Uday Prakash is perfectly qualified to oversee storage and transportation of animals and agricultural products. He has also received Warehouse Training, Bonded Warehouse Training and a Port Management Diploma from the National Institute of Port Management (NIPM) Chennai. Within Pearl Group, he is in charge of CFS handling.

Praveen Mistry

Mr. Praveen Mistry has an extensive background in supply chain and CFS operations. He has worked with Forbes group for 17 years, and then with Bombay Port Trust as an operations executive in CFS operations. He joined Pearl Transmarine Services in 2003 as a manager overseeing the Freight forwarding operations as well as marketing. He has since then moved up to the post of a senior manager.

Ahin Kandi Das

Mr. Das has been in the field of finance and accounting for over 18 years. He started his career with an articleship under a Chartered Accountant, from which he moved up to an audit clerk. He then worked as an assistant accountant at a Jute mill, and then as an accountant with a bank for over 3 years. He joined Pearl Group in February 1999, handling the accounts for Pearl Freight Services. He has since then moved up to overseeing the accounts for the entire Pearl Group, and handling financing operations as well as finance related administrative issues. |
